Art San Diego – September 2012
I had a juried single-artist space at Art San Diego from September 6th through 9th, 2012. The fair, in its fourth year, was held in the Balboa Park Activities Center.
Art San Diego casts a wider subject matter net than most other art fairs. There were zones within the exhibit hall dedicated to Contemporary Art, Mid-Century and Modern Art, Contemporary Furniture Design, and Curated Solo-Artist Booths. I had one of the latter.
The fair also boasted an unusually wide range of ancillary activities like collectors’ seminars and a Chinese cultural exchange component called VISION CHINA. My wife Karen and I staffed the booth together.
Unlike the other art fairs we do, this one had the great advantage of being close to home. It gave us a chance to invite friends, family, and neighbors. We caught up with a number of people we hadn’t seen for awhile. A nice added dimension. (Photos by Franz Krachtus)
